Win SMB Disconnected on Startup
#1
XBMC doesnt automatically connect to my share drive. I've added the content with XBMC's SMB procedure, but when I first start XBMC no content will play, it just asks if I want to remove the content, If I try to add content and just open the SMB (not even add something) and close it everything works. Anybody know a fix?

This seems to be a common problem with windows. Easiest thing I've seen to fix is to write a shirt batch file and have it run at startup. You want to use the "net use" command.

Hate to revive this thread but I can figure out how to use the "net use" command... the shares are mounted in Explorer just fine but XBMC won't connect to the SMB until I manually access it through the files list...

Thats the problem, but the fix doesn't work. I still get error code 53, couldnt connect and have to manually connect to get it to work. Sad

Is NFS an option wherever your shares are, instead of SMB?

Found it much more straight forward to just start again with my XBMC installs a while back and setup the sources again using NFS, doesn't matter if Windows maps or sees the SMB share then.
It's also quicker for both XBMC on Windows and a Raspberry Pi.
