Hi Krusty,
I'm uploading a clip where the problem I was describing occurs. Starts at around 0:49s where the static overlays come on. I've put the original stream and the remux which was done by server.wmc onto your google drive page. Would be great if you get a chance to take a look.

Sure, I will take a look. So the I'll only see the corruption in the remuxed ts, not the wtv right?

Yes, hopefully you'll see that the .wtv plays back fine - either in xbmc, wmc, windows media player etc. But the remux trips up once the graphics come on from around 0:40 to the end..

I didn't notice a problem at first because it was getting covered by the osd, but now I see what you are talking about. the bottom of the screen in the ts file is getting blacked out. right?

That's how it appears watching the saved .ts file. When watching live or whilst remuxing 'on the fly' it appears as flickering back and forth between frames so it's a bit different..

Did you see the problem whilst remuxing the .wtv file?

No I don't see the problem in the wtv. I have not found the cause of the ts problem so far either.

I spent some time looking at the clip you sent me. I can play the ts file generated from it in three different players (vlc, wmp, and kodi) and all three do something different as far as the video corruption goes (actually the best is kodi). I think the problem is the wtv file ends abruptly and there is garbage data it in, this causes the remuxer to get confused and it puts some garbage data into the ts, but I'm still not sure. Can you tell me how you generated this wtv clip? Did you just hit stop in kodi to end the clip? Or do something more abrupt?

I just copied it out of the temp folder whilst still playing live so as not to loose it, so certainly not a controlled stop! But even a normal recording can have the same problem (tested playing back recordings with the remux all option), just these are big files to upload..

Do you have a regular recording that shows the problem now when remuxed? We'll worry about its size later.
I think you mentioned that the way the corruption looked when you were viewing the stream did not look the same as what you captured. That's why I am worried that what I am looking at is not the same problem.
wtv files are weird beasts when the are being recorded to, they grow in half gig increments even when the actual data in the file is very small. When you copy them in this state, windows copies the large file, then it somehow touches the file again to truncate the file. Whether it does a nice job in this second pass I don't know.

Yes I have a recording which shows the problem - uploading it now. Similar glitches to the previous file, 18-30s in.
These aren't the worst examples (mainly just the text flickering) but all I can find right now. Other times the whole screen is flickering and its quite bad.

Hi krusty, I do have another recording with some glitches in, this time from full screen static images being displayed in the program - so different to the previous clips which were both of the same bbc three info graphics. If it helps I can upload this also?

If you can, just archive it for now. I will probably want it eventually but I can't really work on this particular issue right now. It is something I plan to work on more, just have other stuff I need to clear first.
