XBMC Crashes if no internet connection.
#1
Hi all,

If I start up my Linux box (lubuntu 12.04) with an internet connection, and start XBMC, then kill the internet connection. XBMC survives.
If I start up my Linux box (lubuntu 12.04) with no internet connection, and start XBMC, it exits in about 30-40 seconds.

For the purposes of this test, I am leaving my router on so internal networking is still available, but turning my cable modem off so there's no route to the internet.
When XBMC exits it leaves nothing in any log.
This happened using Frodo standalone and still happens after having upgraded to running XBMC Gotham within LXDE (not standalone)
This is nothing to do with any addons. If I rename the whole .xbmc folder, it generates a new one and still happens.

I'm going to be moving in the next few days and sadly no internet is going to be the norm for a while. I'd like to be able to use XBMC during this outage. Any advice?

I don't believe that no log is left.

Sorry nickr. Thought I'd already edited my original post when I remembered the crashlog but I'd forgot to submit the change. Anyway, the end of a crashlog is now in the original post

Lack of internet shouldn't cause XBMC to crash. Post a debug log (wiki) and the crash log to somewhere like xbmclogs or pastebin and post linkbacks here.

Likely nobody can help you without the required information, so please don't cut the logfiles.

Sorry to bump this but I'm moving in a couple of days and I'd really hate to lose my movie library until I can get internet back on.

Any advice anyone?
