On freenode you have officia IRC channels as follows #xbmc #xbmc-linux #xbmc-osx #xbmc-android that I know of.

#irc is nothing related to xbmc on irc at all, so safe to ignore that comment by .:B:. entirely.

I can honestly say I have never visited any of those channels mentioned except #xbmc.
