I agree with Ned on this. Precise works perfectly fine for nvidia and intel without hw deinterlacing. AMD not so much, but the trusty HWE stack brings kernel and mesa up to the same versions as on trusty itself. So even AMD might somehow work.
Just because HW deinterlacing on intel doesn't work doesn't mean its unusable for most users, specially since SW deint in FernetMentas branch works very well.
