XBMC wont open directly to Video.
#1
I have set xbmc as the default player for my videos. When I open a file in my HTPC it opens xbmc but only as far as the opening page with the options.
I have searched thru the menus but can't see one to make it do this.
Im sure an earlier version I had on another pc opened directly into the video?

My HTPC will open directly into WMP or VLC if I set that as the default.
Im using the latest download from last week on download page.

I've run 4 iterations of XBMC and none have had the ability to directly open into a video, although there is plenty of work-arounds like starting up video splash screen, choose the start-up window 'video', playlist-startup or using video screen blanker with very short timeout? I'm not sure pf the effect you're trying to create, but XBMC isn't just a video player it's an all encompassing home theatre media library. http://xbmc.org/about/

Thank you for answering. The effect I guess is to have XBMC open when I open a media file and play it directly.
XBMC doesn't not always see all my files on my network so I just open them on my htpc and use XBMC to manage the playing settings.
And yes it did used to open directly but I don't recall the version or how I did it on another pc I had. (Zotac Zbox ID34)
