Bug tvheadend + Rpi & hifiberry digi + dvdplayer
#16
the value of gpu_mem is at 256, if i set more, xbmc crashes :/
there is my config.txt
Quote:pi@raspbmc:~$ cat /boot/config.txt
arm_freq=850
core_freq=375
force_turbo=1
disable_overscan=1
start_file=start_x.elf
fixup_file=fixup_x.dat
hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1
decode_MPG2=my_key
decode_WVC1=my_key
gpu_mem=256

I'll remove these values :
Quote:<buffermode>1</buffermode>
<cachemembuffersize>52428800</cachemembuffersize>
I don't think that it will change anything, but I'll try.

Sorry, I'm quite late to answer but I removed this lines to my advancedsettings.xml :
Quote:<buffermode>1</buffermode>
<cachemembuffersize>52428800</cachemembuffersize>
and nothing changes.

I'd be interested if a newclock4 build behaves better, as the dvdplayer support is largely rewritten.

I'll try this but before I'll make a large backup of my SD card, It can be usefull.

edit : I read your link but I didn't see "newclock4". It's not this topic that you were talking about ?

Another question "gpumem" at 256M is still required or it can be set at 128 ?

So I tried an installation the build of the 4th August newclock4, and the first problem is that the Tvheadend client can't be enabled so no TV on Kodi this time.

There are these lines in xbmc.log when I try to enable it
Quote:

23:59:38 53.510395 T:2887775296 ERROR: PVR - Add-on 'Tvheadend HTSP Client' is using an incompatible API version. XBMC minimum API version = '1.9.1', add-on API version '1.9.0'

The server side of Tvheadend works well, I can see TV by the web frontend with VLC.

I set dvdplayer as player by "settings -> video" etc etc and I played a film in HD (1080p).

result : the video doesn't play well. In 3 minutes, there were about 100 drops and the CPU usage were high (about 95-100%).

When I setted back omxplayer, the video plays well and smooth.

An another problem was that there is no alsa support. I checked "external soundcard" in raspbmc settings and xbmc didn't see my hifiberry digi. But alsa see it.

And the last problem is at a fresh install of this alpha.

The file "/home/pi/.upgrade/kodi-14-20140804-nc4/xbmc-bcm/xbmc-bin/lib/xbmc/system/librtmp.so" had a size of 0, it was empty. It causes a boot-loop of xbmc. I repaired that by copying the version of this file from gotham stable (13.1).

I hope that can help.

The alpha is not stable at all Sad It broke again my whole system.

now The video is not playing fine (many big big big pixel in 720p) and internet connection doesn't work at all. In addition that I wrote before.

I say it again and it'll be simplier and from far, HifiBerry is not compatible with XBMC/Kodi until :
-> omxplayer doesn't support alsa
or
-> dvdplayer isn't very much lighter

I'll have to re-install from zero all my system do all configuration. It's TV live or good sound on HD movies but it won't be both. Right now, it's not possible.
