OS X Player without the theatre

Hi, I apologize if this question has been asked before.

I'm wondering if there's a way to just use the XBMC media player without having to go through the whole library screens. Basically I want to be able to open files directly from my filesystem and use the XBMC media player because I find it better than the alternatives (VLC, MPlayerX are the only two I know of) I have installed.

I'm on OS X 10.9.4, please let me know if I can provide any more information.

In the Finder select a video file, go to the File menu, then select "get info"

Change the application it opens with to XBMC and then select "change all".

Now when you double click the video file it will open XBMC and play that file automatically.
