Hi!

I am now on windows 8.1 Pro and still can't figure out how to open XBMC using the green key shown in the pic below.

Maybe this thread can be a sticky for this topic with Windows 8.1

Thanks.

Try my xbmclauncher. Select custom mce remote option during installation. It should start xbmc on pressing green button. You can also use the mce mapper tool to set a custom shortcut for the green button and set it as the xbmc shortcut. Run the mapper tool in admin mode.

Do I install only your XBMC launcher along with MCE mapper or only your launcher?
Do I install MCE remote and Enable the addon as well? It is confusing.
It just worked once and stopped working after a reboot!

You don't need any addon in xbmc. Run the mce mapper tool and post the key combination for the green button or a screenshot.

Ok. I will do it once I am home. I had the MCE Add-on enabled and changed some settings in the past. Will re-install XBMC and do what you said.
Nice work on the launcher!

The remote should now start xbmc using the green button. For this the launcher should run in the background all time.

Makes XBMC runs in this mode

and when pressed again makes it full screen. I am sure you have a way to map that key on the remote! Please guide...

Yes it runs in the background and is enabled in start up too. What i want to confirm is all stpes to enable this again. Did it work because of the reboot?

Changes to mce remote will work only after reboot.

For toggling full screen, assign a key combination to the desired button and define that key combination in xbmc keyboard.xml file. I think '\' key cannot be mapped in mce remote.
