I want my Pioneer to decode everything and I want the ability to alter the sound from the Pioneer(treble, bass, loudness, depth, type of sound field.....ETC.

In Audio Settings(Expert level): Using HDMI.......Directsound or WASPI: ? .....which will enable the most control from my Pioneer Elite SC-55?

WASAPI I think is the recommendation for Windows, certainly if you wanna do passthrough to your amp.

Note though that if my pioneer amp is getting DD or DTS you cannot change anything, sound is how it is encoded and that's it !!

Yes choose WASAPI if you want want best quality passthrough for decoding audio on the AVR.
