Empty EPG
#1
I'm having an issue with server wmc. The channel guide in WMC is populated. I do not get anything in xbmc. If i'm remembering correctly, the serverwmc gui used to have stats listed in the "total items transferred to clients" secition under the status tab. now, its either blank or says 0.

logfile: http://pastebin.com/rn8cq6Yt

Thanks in advanced for any and all help!

It only shows the items transferred to clients when the client (xbmc) starts up, but that's not included in the log file you posted. If it used to show the epg but suddenly stopped, try resetting the database in xbmc.

Your log only shows startup where channels are loaded, but we really need to see the actual client requests asking for EPG information ("GetEntries" requests in the log).

Startup seems OK - ServerWMC loads 80 channels (and ignores 565 that are disabled in WMC... correct?). But it doesn't load EPG items it just fetches them on demand from WMC when a client requestst EPG information, so we need to see a more complete log.

Also you could can try on your client resetting the PVR and EPG databases. "Reset PVR database" and "Reset EPG Database" under Settings->System->LiveTV->General and EPG sections respectively.

Also the timestamp/system clock on your client needs to be in sync with the server since the client sends through a request for EPG entries based on a time range from it's local clock, so if it is way off (eg asking for entries from 3 days ago which WMC doesn't have) then you wont get anything

Thank you both for the very quick response!

I reset the pvr and epg databases. no luck.

Scarecrow - You are correct. I'm blocking 565 channels in wmc.

I've attached the requested log: http://pastebin.com/4AKQtpRk

Thanks for your help. I figured it out. One of the switches on my network was freaking out. I rebooted it and everything is working properly now.

Glad you got it sorted. FYI though, the log you posted still didnt show client's requesting any EPG information... I guess perhaps if the switch was flaking out the requests never made it. In that case the XBMC client log helps. Sounds like we dont need to look into your problem more unless it happens again
