Interestingly that person was trying to use advanced launcher and couldn't get it to work.
The other addon,Executor, that did work, where can I find this ? It's not an official add on is it ?

No, no, no... Advanced Launcher is working. This person has wrongly installed firefox on his system.

Select a category (not enter) into Advanced Launcher, display the context menu ("C" key) then select "Add New Launcher" option.

There is no 'add new launcher' option
There is a 'create new launcher' with 5 options.I choose 'standalone' and then the only option that comes up is my one and only video addon, mashup

You need to add the root directory where is located your firefox executable as sources.

Lol!

Never seen a user that confused, to refuse help by the guy that has actually written advanced launcher :-)
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I'm not refusing help I just pointed out the conflicting information I found on the other thread that did indeed confuse me.

Xbmc is an extremely difficult thing to get your head round for many people that's why there are so many questions asked in forums like this.

You and Angelscry are developers so obviously you find this stuff second nature, lots of us don't

I added firefox source path /usr/bin/firefox but I get error message 'network not connected'.

I'm using lubuntu 14.04 and gotham 13.2 by the way if that makes any difference
