It it's going to used solely for XBMC then use OpenElec which is a lightweight Linux distro that boots straight into XBMC, it's designed to give an appliance like experience and should do everything you want on the N2820. The only area it will struggle in is using the higher quality de-interlacing methods for 1080i live tv, if you don't use XBMC for live TV then it's not something to worry about.

I'm using Cubox-i 4pro and it works great with openELEC. Had no problem with mkv with hd audio.

At $140, may as well get a Chromebox, unless I'm missing something.
