Have an ATV2. Would like to update to Gotham, do I just install the new xbmc like I did FRODO?

Yep. You might also want to backup your settings with the backup add-on, just in case, but it should just work by upgrading Gotham over Frodo.

Any problems with keeping Frodo for a while? Seams like I get a few errors once in a while and reboots sometimes, not sure if it would be cured by Gotham or am I gambling?

As long as you backup your files then you should be able to go back to Frodo in case Gotham breaks something.
