TVHeadend client options in XBMC
#1
I'm using TVHeadend 3.9 and Openelec 4.0.7.

when i'm configuring TV settings i can select 'client own settings'.

Got a few options here, i can enable or disable 'transcoding' (by default disabled)
I can set the audiocodec which can be set to passthrough, AAC, VORBIS, MPEG2AUDIO.
I can set the videocodec which can be set to MPEG2VIDEO, Passthrough, H264.
and set the resolution, which can be 480p, 384p, 288p, 192p and 720p.

What do these settings do, because whatever i set, i dont see any difference, but cant imagine the settings are for nothing.

Transcoding disabled in current tvheadend builds, those settings therefore non functional and aren't dependant on tvheadend in terms of what is actually available.

(I think) Wink

They're supposed to control what format tvheadend transcodes the streams into, though the feature is broken for now. There have been some recent improvements to transcoding support in tvheadend lately, if it starts becoming reliable enough for me to actually test I'll try to fix any problems in the addon itself too.
