Hi Fritsch,

Thanks for the feedback, I'll do that this evening.

XBMC should be latest, I performed a apt-get update+upgrade before the tests... But I'll check that to be sure.

About the network, I am very surprised because I am on a 1Gb/s link (10Gb/s cabling with 1Gb switch).
when I flip good/bad movie consecutively multiple times, it works perfectly, meaning the bad does not play properly and the good one perfectly.

Will keep you all posted

In your case, the version is:

20:55:54 T:140059345438656 NOTICE: Starting XBMC (13.1 Git:f2acae7). Platform: x86 Linux 64-bit

what means 13.1....13.2 is the latest stable version. So you need to update.

Puzzling when dpkg says :
ii xbmc 2:13.2~git20140817.2155-final-0trusty all XBMC Media Center (arch-independent data package)
ii xbmc-bin 2:13.2~git20140817.2155-final-0trusty amd64 XBMC Media Center (binary data package)

Would be better if they were both matching...

Anyways, I removed the old version, requested to install the version via apt-get, it installed the same pkg but:
xbmc.log:17:43:40 T:140605876451264 NOTICE: Starting XBMC (13.2 Git:0f3db05). Platform: x86 Linux 64-bit

Same results, lowering to 12-13 fps :-(

Post dmesg | pastebinit

You did not play from local disk, yet.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I cant play from local disk, there is not enough space.

How can you explain in 2 minutes, many movies are working and some specific not, testing one after the other ?

You don't have a USB stick?

Ok guys,

I copied the file to a NTFS part on another HD, then mounted it.
As planned, the issue does not change.
I got both no display + 13fps for the same file.

That file does not play properly under Frodo 12.2 under Windows XP as well.
But the file plays perfectly using VLC, Media Player Classic and Microsoft viewer under the same windows XP (previous HTPC version)

I applied fritsch's recommendations to disable vaapi, it solved the issue on the previously failing files.
Crossing the fingers now Big Grin
