SSD drive partitions
#1
I am seeking some advice from the forum.

I am in the process of trying to decide what size capacity to purchase for a SSD drive.

1. Can I create a small boot partition to install OpenElec and a large partition to store movie files locally? yes/no
2. What size does the OpenElec boot partition need to be?
3. Which file format does both of these partitions need to be?

Thanks in advance

There's no advantage to partitioning a single drive. You'd be much better off getting a very small SSD for the OS and a larger capacity spinning drive for your media.

Unless OP only has room for one drive.
But i wouldn't worry about it and mess with it manually.
AFAIK Openelec creates by default 2 partitions - one for system and /storage for media and updates
It even automaticaaly creates folders in /storage called, music, pictures, videos, tvshows etc.
Granted i have only installed Openelec onto flash drive and HDD, but in case of SSD it should be same.

I would be interested in this as well. I have a 128GB SSD on the way.
I assume 100MB for system and rest for storage would suffice.

100MB? Isn't that a little small for OpenELEC and it's databases?
