The friend that suggest XBMC to me told me I must name the movies followed by [YEAR] but I have noticed that even without the [YEAR] the movies are being detected.

so what is the right way of doing this? shall I rename all my collection to :

MOVIE NAME [YEAR].extension

or

MOVIE NAME (YEAR).extension

or

MOVIE NAME

Name the movie folder to Movie Name (Year). The file name can be of your choice. In the scraper settings select the option 'movies are in separate folders that match movie title'. There are movies with the same name, specifying the year will scrape them correctly.
