tv backend on pi!?
#1
Hi,
Is it possible to use a raspberry pi to run the TV back end? I currently use windows, but the Pi would use much less energy... Is the pi powerful enough to handle it? I'd be running 2x DVB tuners and 1x Satellite tuner.
Thanks,
John

No. You need a backend. It`ll work on the pi, But will lag like hell.

Thanks - that's what I feared.... I think I'll pop all my storage drives and USB tuners into one box and leave that on 24/7 - will run a webserver and bits off it perhaps.... sure it'll cost money to leave it on always, but then I guess it'll be serving me well!

TVHeadend worked really well when I last used it on a Pi. I wouldn't bet on it being able to serve more than one front-end client at a time, though.
