Now the connection lost error is solved! Thanks

But there's a new message "VNSI Client: Channel scrambled". And after a few seconds my TV-signal freezes

By the way: we still have text "1.0.9" here

xbmc@xbmc:~$ apt-cache showpkg vdr-plugin-vnsiserver

Why does apt-get take an older version? How can I tell it to take the latest?

Thank you so much it was the first time I could use my brand-new Sundtek adapter, at least to get an impression how it could be ;-)

And now two more errors instead of TV: "VDR VNSI Client - Channel: no data" an "unknown error"

I am no packaging expert. I think that the versioning schema of the two packages differ which confuses the package manager and it does not know what version is newer.

Will ask our packaging expert when I get a hold of him.

For the other issue please post an exact description of whats happening along with a debug log (xbmc + syslog)

Since everything went perfect, I decided to get new hardware: Intel NUC D34010WYK (Core i3), 30GB SSD, 2GB RAM, slot-in DVD writer USB. Prefect setup for me.

But: Setting up everything as described in this post, I get a VNSI connection error again. Things work only after manual restart of VDR.

Code:
xbmc@xbmc:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/vdr status
Getting status of Linux Video Disk Recorder: vdr - is not running.
xbmc@xbmc:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/vdr stop
Stopping Linux Video Disk Recorder: vdr - seems not to be running.
xbmc@xbmc:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/vdr start
Starting Linux Video Disk Recorder: vdr
Searching for plugins (VDR 2.1.6/2.1.6) (cache hit): vnsiserver.

I though, that my Sundtek driver is not ready at the time when VPN is started. So I tried this http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=185969. It didn't help!

Any suggestions? Would love to go into "production" with my new system :-)

Yes, vdr starts without the dvb device being ready. That's why I don't like those outdated system v scripts. I use upstart which waits with starting vdr until dvb is ready.
