Android FireTV - Crash on movie library scan
#1
Hi everyone,

I've tried a few different builds a different configurations and regardless of what I do, as soon as I "scan for new content" for movies, XBMC crashes (and reopens because of Xposed).

The log ends with:
Code:
08:05:14 T:1572864168   DEBUG: ------ Window Init (DialogExtendedProgressBar.xml) ------
08:05:14 T:1572864168   DEBUG: Window DialogExtendedProgressBar.xml was already loaded
08:05:14 T:1572864168   DEBUG: Alloc resources: 0.00m
08:05:14 T:1573135312  NOTICE: VideoInfoScanner: Starting scan ..
08:05:14 T:1573135312   DEBUG: CAnnouncementManager - Announcement: OnScanStarted from xbmc
08:05:14 T:1573135312   DEBUG: GOT ANNOUNCEMENT, type: 16, from xbmc, message OnScanStarted
08:05:15 T:1573135312   DEBUG: int XFILE::CSMBDirectory::OpenDir(const CURL&, CStdString&) - Using authentication url smb://192.168.1.1/WD_Ext_36301/Movies

It doesn't matter what folder I scan unless I add a single movie at a time, however 400+ movies means this isn't really an option.

Thanks

edit; using stickmount with a usb drive, works. However I have a few streaming devices and my HDD is on the router

i have just got a Fire TV and am having the exact same issue, is there a work around?

Unfortunately not. Having my external shared with any other device apart from the dlink router works 100%.

From everything I can tell, its related to an incompatibility between XBMC and the dlink router.

I've since upgraded to using a HTPC as my primary device and the fireTV as my secondary haven't had any issues.

I've been having this issue for months and still have not found out why or a workaround.

See if you guys can get us a logcat (wiki) for these crashes.

Also, I think the Android version of Kodi might get an update for the SAMBA client in the near future, which might be related (maybe?).
