my serverwmc is reporting it found all 600+ channels in my system, but when it goes for an epg update, it only pulls up 3 total channels, and thus can only watch live tv from those 3 channels... i have no clue whats going on.. i can connect and watch recordings jsut fine, but live tv and the epg are screwed up b/c its not pulling all the channels in.. resetting the database didnt work, reinstalling the server didnt work, so im stumped...

post a link to the serverwmc log (on pastebin) after xbmc has started up and loaded the guide.

did you reset both PVR and EPG databases in XBMC?
And as KR says, post a ServerWMC log so we can see what's up

I hope your provider hasn't decided to flag all channels now!
You can try re-setting up the TV Tuners/Channels in WMC again and seeing if that changes anything"
There is a ServerWMC option on the Channels tab "Hide DRM Channels" which you could untick if you want to force these channels to be sent to XBMC but ideally they wouldn't be detected as COPY_ONCE unless they really are DRM'ed

i know the channels arenet b/c my ceton tuner is telling me when i look up the data that they either have NO DRM or copy free.. and i dont think they are allowed to copy once basic channels like cbs, nbc, fox, abc which is what is being flagged wrong

It could be that they are getting flagged incorrectly, so do like scarecrow says and let the channels through, see if they play in xbmc

i did that and the "wrong flagged" channels do show up work on live tv.. i wonder why they are flagged wrong only in xbmc
with that settled, what about my remote viewing issue, why can i see the recording listings but not play them?

Its serverwmc that is flagging them incorrectly (apparently), not xbmc. Scarecrow might be right that reconfiging wmc might solve it, but its probably not work it if the channels are playing.
As for the remote client, have you shared your recorded tv folder? Also depending on what your remote client is, you may need to turn on credentials. Check out the wiki.

yes the recorded tv folder is shared, as i can see the recorded folder and its contents remotely, but the video wont play when i go to start it, after the load circle, nothing happens..

I garbled that post, I meant if the channels are working its probably not worth it to reconfigure wmc. By reconfig I mean going through the setup tv signal in the settings menu of wmc. But forget that for now.
If by seeing the 'contents remotely' you mean that you can see a rec tv file listing in xbmc, that's not the same, the file listing is sent to the client over a socket connection. To play the file your remote machine needs to access the rec tv folder as a network share. If that is setup correctly then post the swmc log again but this time include the beginning of the log along with an attempt at playing a live stream (maybe restart swmc first to make the log clean).

one question.. the UNC path, if the recorded folder is on a different drive, say D:\TV as opposed to C:\TV.. how would the UNC path look
\\HTPC\TV or \\HTPC\D\TV ?

All that matters is which one you set as a network share, doesn't matter whether its on C or D. Of the two you list use the first one.
