Deletion loses scroll position
#1
Hi there,
When I go to movies and delete an item, the scroll position goes to the beginning. It's very annoying.
Don't you have the same problem?
I think it was ok in older versions 12.x

I'm using windows 13.2, confluence.
Thanks

Can anyone confirm i'm not the only one with this problem?
I'm using mysql library. Don't know if this can be related with the problem

confirmed. i don't know if it was different in frodo though.
but you can always submit a bug report on trac: http://trac.xbmc.org/
Do not PM or e-mail Team-Kodi members directly asking for support.
Always read the Forum rules, Kodi online-manual, FAQ, Help and Search the forum before posting.

I was going to report this as a feature request funnily enough. I was going through my library last night deleting stuff and getting increasingly annoyed at having the scroll position go back to the top (Windows 8.1, XBMC 13.2, T! skin).

i can 100% guarantee that this is a regression, as i have fought this regressing before. fixed in my fork.

Yes, one of the many things that also bug me. Thank you ironic_monkey

@ronie and Everyone else see https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/5291 which is a backport from notspiff to master for fixing this.

Ok there has been some changes in PR thx to @fritsch though when you delete last item you get bumped to top anyway with either patch.

You should also test what happens with only one item and removing it (without parent folder items)

In that case, even when parent is not enabled, curiously enough it shows up and is selected. With notspiffs patch with fritsch version I will know shortly.

Edit

Both notspiff or fritsch's patch have same behaviour on that test. so when any list that has no parent folder and last item is deleted and none remain the parent folder magically appears and is highlighted, which if I had to guess is a bit odd but, the directory exists so its probably indicates some item always has to exist in whatever directory you are? idk.

Well testing on this can begin for those who been waiting for patch to be merged https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/0de9...7cb106837f

Thank you again to ironic_monkey for patch and fritsch for the assist.

Hi Iron_monkey, if you mean more details with regards to my post, then what happens is say you have 3 movies to change into a set, you do 'c' on the first and create movie set and assign and the view does nothing, but when you go to the second movie and 'c' assign then I presume Kodi deletes the second movie as it's been assigned to the set and you are placed back at the start. Also at this time the first movie is now updated to actually show it is a movie set, this doesn't happen after doing the initial change on the first movie either. Same happens with any movie you add to an existing set i.e. sent back to start.

If you meant another post, the my apologies.

Mike.
