Hi,
I am new to xbmc, so if this question sounds stupid have pity. I have purchased a XBMC android box
and have it up and running directly from my router to a TV. I have a 10 gig download limit. Will streaming
affect my download limit.

Of course. Anything you do on the internet uses data. Streaming is basically the same thing as downloading, just without keeping the file afterwards.

cheers for that, but as they say if you don't know the answer then no question is stupid. I was given wrong info by the guy who sold me
the box, after asking him the same question, I was still not sure hence the post. Thanks again.

I wouldn't buy something from some one who doesn't know that answer.

I wouldn't buy anything unless I already knew the answer. Sales people are often motivated to lie (or worse yet, make answers up) in order to make sales.
