Yes - you cannot select it, cause your xbmc starts before your hardware is ready. Wait until udevtrigger is finished.

This is not an xbmc problem at all - but a problem of your distribution and how you start xbmc.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Btw I don't think is that the cause of the problem no?

The cause of the problem is that your system is not yet fully up when you start xbmc. xbmc only scans ALSA devices on startup.

I've tried to stop xbmc systemd service and restart it, the system should be full up and running but nothing...

Yeah - just use Ubuntu. Here it's enought to wait for udev-trigger
Code:
start on (filesystem and stopped udevtrigger)

via a simple upstart script.

I can't use Ubuntu because I need a rolling release distro on my mediacenter.

Have read them all since first day. There are multiple problems currently tracked - the OP wants to use pulseaudio, but his workaround is to "Sleep until pulseaudio is up and running" ... which is nonsense as systemd is quite capable of waiting for services and xbmc is also able to reenumerate device for pulseaudio when they appear.

As said before, this issue is solely an arch problem of not getting the systemd service dependencies together. There is absolutely nothing to fix on the xbmc side.

Please summarize what it fixed, concerning your comment:

Quote:what to say... I really hope that arch users, xbmc dev and pluseaudio dev will find a solution togheter.

We try to connect to pulseaudio server on startup, if no pulseaudio server is running we fall back to alsa - that easy it is.
