i tried the gueux streaming edition, and i've noticed a significantly better responsivity while browsing and playing media (music) from dvds. latest xbmc release is far from be so lightfast: in gueux release folders full of media (and nested, and placed wherever into the disc) opens in less then a second.
it's only a matter of cache settings? or there something else that can be done in compilation?
another side-effect of the performance differences is this:
if i set the whole 4+ gigs in the dvd as my playlist, it tooks a lot to swap between files browsing and the playlist itself (with playback skipping). in gueux release it's quicker, smoother and happier :-)
