need picopsu help real quick

I just got a picopsu based htpc off ebay. It did not come with a psu. The seller said I need to get a 12v 6.6a 80watt psu for it. But, can I use this psu instead with these specs 12A/144W AC to DC Switching Power Supply 110-240vAC to 12vDC PicoPSU Compatible. Will the extra amp current and wattage kill my HTPC and picopsu or will it work like other machines and only draw the amps and wattage the machine needs? I know this power supply is way over kill for my picopsu, but it is the one I can get the quickest!!!! Dying to set up my HTPC, lol!!!!!

this is the amazon link to the power supply: http://www.amazon.com/Switching-Supply-1...roduct_top

Same dealer, same Prime shipping, 8A/96W: http://www.amazon.com/Switching-Supply-1...B00A4HLOTU

You don't say which picoPSU you bought so it's hard to provide advise on the AC adapter.

I don't know which picopsu I got. The seller just said I need a 12v 6.6a 80w power supply. I know that it is over kill, but can I use a larger amp and wattage power supply without killing the picopsu or motherboard? The picopsu is already in the HTPC so I don't know which one.

I wouldn't use an AC adapter with a higher rated output than the rating of the picoPSU. I've followed that rule for years with mini-ITX power supplies and haven't had an issue.

Did it come with a P4 (CPU) plug? If so, it's most likely the picoPSU-90. If not it might be the picoPSU-80.

As long as you don't pick an adapter with a higher voltage, you're save ;-)

A more powerfull adapter (wattage/current) will just be less efficient in most cases and that's it.
