I think this is too complicated but it would be a great idea to develop a very simple skin that matches Yatse remote, or an official remote for that matter. Plex function like this perfectly with chromecast for example, check it out if you can!
It's just a stand by screen with Plex logo (and rotating fan art), and when you select a movie in your smartphone, it displays the info in the screen (poster, fanart, plot, etc). Then when playing OSD controls need to be designer too but that's it.
