What scrapers are YOU using?

since updating to gotham 13.2. my music library has been terrible. ive tried deleting the DB and starting from scratch using ALLMUSIC as the scraper but less than half of the artisits have any sort of thumbnail or artist info after 2 weeks and many "query info for all artisists"

is this a fault with allmusic? any way to improve or change to a different scraper??

90 views and not 1 single reply?

not a difficult question really...why is the music library so crap at the moment... gotham has taken my "xbmc" rating from 9/10 to 4/10

i have pretty much switched to local info scraper. i've put in the effort to properly tag my music with meta data and to include album art. artist bio and etc is not important to me.

Currently there is no stand-alone Music Scraper, and the one's built into XBMC aren't very thorough (still a work in progress, and you need to submit the artists you are missing to: http://theaudiodb.com/.

Even if you scraped your music using the officially supported (in XBMC 13) MusicBrainz (using the Picard program https://musicbrainz.org/doc/MusicBrainz_Picard), you will still have issues. I know, as I've rescraped all my MP3's using MusicBrainz Picard, and while everything looked great in XBMC 12, not so much in XBMC 13.

I'm assuming this is because this is all new in 13, and as updates come, it will get better, but currently, there is lots of areas in Music which suck.

I had poor artist recognition in 12, how did you get it to work well there? You say "...since updating..."

I use mediamonkey to organize everything and embed data and the album art into the file. I haven't used XBMC very much for playing music, or scaping.
