I use DVD Fab which just came out with a new version with no features like h.265 support and 4k movie support. On the 4k, I guess you can just rip the media, 4k or not, and DVDFab can make a MKV.4K file. I know the 4k files won't play on my 1080p TV but are h.265 movies playing yet? I don't usually run the alpha version but if I can run it alongside Gotham, I'd like to make a source with a few h265 files and see how they play.

Also 4k will play. Videores does not have to be render res.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

So will see a movie with the extenstion .mkv.4k as a 4K movie proprerly? I'd read that you can view a 4K movie even on a standard HD TV and a better picture.

Try. No need to read. Just test it.
