FTV: How to install / sideload repos
#1
Sorry if this has been asked before.

I want to install a repo that is not on fuse.

Is there a guide somewhere on how to do this?

I'm looking for a step by step just to get the zip file over to the correct folder on the fire tv.

Thanks in advance for any help.

i usually do that through my network. through "install from zip" on my network. But you may be able to place the zip file onto a usb drive and do that way.

Just to make sure, how do you do it through your network?

I also have a server, could I use that the way you do it with yours?

I would still like to know how to ADB stuff is someone can help me with that, because I also want to change the keymap for the remote control.

Cheers,

If you install network file source/server to the file manager (wiki) then it should also become an option for installing add-ons-by-zip.

Thanks for the tip Ned.

that makes more sense.. than just placing the addon/plugin in zip format out on a share. Then browsing for it by samba or what have you. setup up the file manager to point to the folder on the network device and access it right away without browsing the network.

@outofphaze. Have you gotten xbmc on your firetv as of yet by following the wiki? Amazon_Fire_TV (wiki)

It shows a lot on how to do the ADB stuff.
