Looks interesting. Not great, but not expensive either. Question I have is will they do windows with bing or leave it only as an option.

Wonder how well it would run Windows Media Center for tv? Would make a great little standalone tv box for and HdHomerun device, as long as a harddrve can be attached through usb. Wow Minix must be doing well, I don't think any of the other chinese boxes have used the Intel chips.

See this other thread for a very similar product. Same potential issues may apply.

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=203102

This chipset has no native SATA or Ethernet so all those are likely powered by internal USB 2.0 hub. The more expensive Baytrail-T chips support USB 3.0.

I'm able to watch hdhomerun on my z3740 tablet fine so it looks like it has enough power for that. Even 1080i deinterlacing is working but I can't tell what quality method it uses.

reading the post (I posted in second post) theres a link to the official forum from minix about this product
http://www.minixforum.com/threads/minix-...trail.650/

inside you'll find information on pricing
" We are still finalizing pricing at the moment. The quoted US$129 price is just speculation.

It will certainly be priced under US$150, though.

"

and the release date
"We shall shortly be releasing our first Intel based 64-bit Android Mini PC (expected release date: October 2014)."

also you can't dual boot
"It comes with Android 4.4.4 OS, but Windows 8.1 may also be installed (however, dual-boot is not possible). "

what I like about this box is that memory, storage, wifi, remote are all included oh and wifi

I have this board in a tablet I bought recently. It runs Windows 8.1 without any issues and runs XBMC nicely.

For the price it makes a good alternative to those not bothered about DTS-HD.

I shall be keeping an eye on this. I have found my self many times hovering over the Minix S802H to try out but so far have not clicked buy.

as someone mentioned in the Minix forum could you just install openelec? As it is a Intel CPU and motherboard it should be no different to the NUC N2820 right?

Not necessarily.

Not being as familiar with various CPU's, would running Android on this be faster than Amlogic S802 or the latest RockChip RK3288?
