Solved Linux: Video smooth but jerk severely every 15 minutes?

Enable pasdthrough. Check ac3 check DTS, check ac3 transcode. Choose the correct device. Post a log with just that sample.

sorry mate, my bad somthing must have gone wrong somewhere that sample now plays to the rear speakers. I've been fiddling with it all night, maybe i screwed somethng up somewhere or maybe XBMC just got fed up lol.

Anyhow, DD5.1 does work, but DD Plus does not.##

I have a sample called 'ChannelCheck.m2ts' that is a 5.1 DD+ and that plays rear speakers on front speakers and no LFE.

Which is the last log that i posted...

I try again: as long your avr only handshakes with 2 channels only DTS and ac3 can work. You have an edid problem.

ok but why did it work before - im guessing my best bet is to re-install the stable 13.2 and do all the stuff we did before then try to update the video drivers and see if the sound works?

Or is there something else i can do about this?

As you presented the old log before, you see yourself. You only ever had 2 channels synced ... Reinstall of 13.2 won't change anything.

Set the ouput mode of your avr to AMP and disable arc for testing. Alternatively search the forum for marantz.bin and do an edid overwrite.
Edit: always reboot after you change something.

i dont think it has an output mode of AMP mate, I wouldn't see any picture (or is that the point?)

disable arc? what is arc?

downloaded marantz.bin and used that edid, nothing seemed to change.

Ac3, DTS are virtual formats sent with just 2 channels. Dts-hd, truehd, Dolby+ need 8 channels.

All fine besides your avr is now my marantz.

So. Back to the original issue - all fine, now? Then mark that thread as solved (edit title) and edit it with a short solution summary.
