Just tried DXVA on NVidia and there is indeed something broken. We are currently working on DXVA and will fix it.

With latest nightlies i see better picture in deinterlacer with win7 64 but for sure my tv does much better job and i really wonder if it is so difficult to add the native output to let the tv to do the deinterlace.
Im willing to test for sure if anyone can provide a compiled version with this ability.
For test reasons i installed latest openelec beta and that had better image quality and deinterlacing than my windows but again here tv itself did better job, maybe vdpau is better than dvxa dont know.
There's no substitute for experience

Well if you read this thread it somewhere points out that it indeed that its not that Easy to do (keep in mind - Interlaced is presented in 2 half Images - and it is so Legacy that its not ment to Output that was on digital Outputs)

Thanks!!!
I did a quick test. It seems to work. I will test more later.
It use about 30-35% processor playing a DVD or DVB-T mpeg2 recording on my Macmini i7 10.8.5
and 35-40% processor on my Macmini i5 with the latest OSX Yosemite.
Both MacMinis are about 2 years old.

I just thought that this was useful information.
For some reason Yadif was dropped from the OSX version(as far as I can see), but since it seems to work after all, it is not clear why it is not included, not even in the nightlies and I thought that you maybe lacked some hardware/os combos to test it on (or something like that) and had use for some more reality info.
Sorry.

i shrugged because i don't know what to do with it - the former osx maintainer disabled for a reason (alot of support trouble because users enabled it and it stuttered)
I remember at least one thread about this. Even in 2012 when he disabled it, a lot of users didn't understand because they had computers that were fast enough to handle it. Now we're two years later, so even more OS X users should be fine. Nor do I recall there ever being a lot of people having an issue with it.
In short, it's 2014, Mac OS X users are only a tiny percentage of all Kodi users, and live TV users (who are most likely to use 1080i) are even a smaller slice of that. So even if it didn't work on some older macs, that's going to be maybe 5 users asking why something doesn't work ;)
I say we put our best foot forward and enable options that allow better quality, even if 5 people get confused :)

Also, I'm having no issues with that test build and using yadif on a 1080i stream from my HDHomeRun Prime, and I'm using a 2009 Macbook Pro with a wimpy Core 2 Duo. Fans are on full force, but no problems with the video.

I don't see anything like that when I play interlaced content. Let me know if you want me to test anything more specific.
