It would have to be 802.11n and definitely very good signal.

I stream uncompressed blurays without a hitch wirelessly on my 2nd HTPC, you are right it is 802.11n and I did have to spend a day or so optimising my router settings (others here could probably do it a lot quicker as my network knowledge is limited to say the least)
and I invested in a high gain USB adapter but that was considerably cheaper than investing in homeplugs.
