HDMI vs S/PDIF
#1
Right now I am running Video and Audio using HDMI from a Lenovo Q190 to a Pioneer Elite SC-55. Is there any advantage in running the Audio using S/PDIF?

My system:

Lenovo Q190
Pioneer Elite SC-55
Paradigm Monitor 9 x 4
JBL 12" 250W Sub-woofer
Paradigm Center

Music consists of WAV and FLAC files as high res as I can get them.......24/96..... on external networked ethernet hard wired hard drives

Is there anything I can do to increase the fidelity of my music?

DACS? I'm not sure if I understand them?

HDMI is the best choice as it gives you much greater bandwidth than SPDIF.

For example SPDIF wasn't meant to carry anything greater than 48kHz although many devices do allow it these days, also SPDIF wouldn't be able to cope with anything other than stereo FLAC files.
