Solved Resume playback works for TV/Movie library items but not Files
#1
Question
Hello,

I'm running XBMC 13.1 portable via Boxee Box.

Resuming playback of a video from the point it was previously stopped works fine for TV shows and Movies in the library. However, when I watch non-library videos by going to Videos > Files > [media source folder name], XBMC never remembers their resume playback position and the videos always start from the beginning. XBMC does remember the videos have been played as the triangle play icon is present, but it still starts all videos of all file types from the beginning no matter how long the video has been playing for.

Any idea how to fix/change this behaviour?

Thanks!

Okay, I figured it out.

Under System > Settings > Video > File Lists..

I had "Default select action" set to "Show Information".

This option provides a Resume or Start from Beginning option for items in the library(technically after hitting Play in the Show Information window), but items that are not in the library automatically play from the beginning... maybe because there's no information to show for non-library items.

Although I think the above behaviour is a little inconsistent, changing the default select action to "Choose" does give me the Resume option I was looking for for non-library items.

Thanks again.
