Things that piss off a Candian

Actually business tax is considerably lower in Canada than in the U.S. but income tax is higher but only by about an average of 5%. Much of the reason prices are higher here is the smaller market and of course we have to pay for the "free healthcare", think about how many Americans lose everything when there is a major medical emergency before complaining too much about prices. I usually find that when pressed many local merchants can match the price on items that are available but because of the smaller market the diversity of choice is less.

Haha. Going to the shops to get some overpriced electronics is a life and death affair here. Smile

$225 vs $385 is not ~10% difference. For this price difference to make sense, the Canadian (or Candian) dollar would have to be at $0.58 USD.

I picked up the Zotac Zbox ID-18U from Canadian store http://www.ncix.com/detail/zotac-zbox-id...9-1765.htm after price match for $120.
Bought 4 GB ram for $30.
Kingston 8GB USB3.0 DataTraveler 100 G3 for $5.

I am running Openelec/XBMC from USB flash drive.

Already had old internal 500 GB HDD (installed Win 8.1 on it but currently not using), & MCE remote.

This is the price difference I saw when I made the post. But it seems that the US price likes to fluctuate by $125.

I actually see the same price that Calum see's. If I were to guess, I'd guess that Lenovo's US site is actually changing the price based on the IP of the visitor.

I see $229 US$ versus $329 CDN

That is over 40% more than the US pay. But you could buy a Dell SFF for ~$275 in Canada....

If you want to complain check your facts first and look at the rest of the world:
PS4:
US 400$
UK 500$
CA 400$
Germany 500$
Norway 600$

Keep in mind that you also have free health care which let's you work for the money unlike us which makes your country the cheapest, NOT counting average salary.
