Ok I have two computers. One computer is a 5 year old computer with a 1.8Ghz Intel dual core and 1gb RAM running 13.2 XBMC on Linux Mint 17 32bit. While watching a movie it uses about 17% of CPU load.


Ok now I have a newer computer with an Intel Atom D2700. It's also a dual core running at like 2.0Ghz and has 4gb RAM while running the same version of XBMC and same Version of Linux Mint, only 64bit though. Both computers run fresh installs of both XBMC and Linux mint. Problem is the second computer watching same movie CPU usage is like 120% just for xbmc.bin.

Any ideas cause I'm stumped.

Sounds like one is using hardware acceleration and the other is not.

Never mind. thank you so much Stereodude. I'm not sure if you meant video card but if you did you were correct. When you said that it dawned on me that when I changed the hard drive out to an SSD(had to reinstall mint) I never opened driver manager back up and install nvidia's driver. That fixed it and xbmc load hasn't went over 10%. Thank you so much dude.
