Sudden "Hardware acceleration" required error at login
#1
I'm guessing something got upgraded that shouldn't have and there is a video driver issue. I've been running Gotham 13.2 for some time with no trouble. Power went out last night and on rebooting my HTPC, it will no longer log in as the XBMC user. I get an error box in the upper left corner along of the lines of a hardware acceleration driver for OpenGL is required, then it drops back to the login screen after clicking OK a few times.

My video card is a GT520. Running Ubuntu 14.04 and Gotham 13.2.

I've tried re-installing nvidia-current, tried the swat ppa driver, tried purging/rebooting/reinstalling, but still getting this hardware acceleration driver needed error.

This output from the gpu-manager.log is making me think there's a driver/kernel mismatch problem, but I'm not smart enough to figure out where to look next. Any help would be appreciated![/php]

Were you able to come to a resolution on this?

I too have been running 13.2 for quite some time now on 12.04..

I recently got the hair-brained idea to upgrade to Ubuntu 14.04.1..~/And/~ change from SickbeardTPB to Sickrage at the same time.

Since doing so, my system actually boots up, but it will encounter softlock Bug's on the CPU's...or the whole screen will just start to scramble...eventually rendering the system unusable...even via local keyboard.

@pogomasta are you sure you have the same problem as the OP? Sounds like yours is different.
