Handling 60fps broadcasts to avoid dropped frames.

Is there any way I can hope to deal with two Canadian CBC channels (CBOT 4.1 & CBOFT 9.1) that broadcast OTA 1080p video at 60 frames per second?

These two channels overwhelm my 4 Android Amlogic 8726-mx (mx2) XBMC clients. They can watch my other 7 1080p channels because they broadcast 30fps. My boxes can handle the full 30fps at about 90-95% processor utilization. But they are quickly overwhelmed by those two 60fps channels. They drop thousands of frames in just a few minutes.

I'm obviously fine watching recorded television once it has been transcoded by MCEBuddy, but I was hoping there was something I could do to facilitate live viewing. Can I somehow reduce the fps count of the original streams before my Android boxes see them?

My back end consists of a Windows 7 machine hosting Windows Media Center and ServerWMC. I have an internal Hauppage dual ATSC tuner and an original HDHomeRun ATSC dual tuner.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting. Do they get overwhelmed if you watch the 60Hz wtv files without transcoding?

Yep, they behave the same if I access the .wtv file directly.

When I took the sample this afternoon, the show that was playing was actually a 720p source - still at 60fps though. The same stuttering and frame dropping occurred.

I'm guessing I'm stuck? Would I be correct in thinking that the only way to handle this is to either buy newer Android boxes that can handle the 60fps or to get one of those new HDHomeruns that transcodes the video stream internally before WMC gets it?

Or avoid android?

You could see how mediabrower does with it, since it will transcode - but then you are using their apps and not xbmc. I guess we are stuck otherwise, we'd like to add some transcoding capability in the future, but its not there now.

I can't do anything about this now, but just to add to my collection of problem files for future testing. Could you make like a 2 minute wtv clip of one of these channels and up load it here:
