Don't know if anybody has tried these from Microcenter, but these work great running the latest version of XBMC/Kodi without too many issues. Can't seem to do pass-thru audio and the 24hz works initially but then screws up the audio channels eventually all through the Micro-HDMI. Haven't checked if 3D works though as I don't have either the TV or the any media in that format. If you can live with that, the $140 starting cost isn't terrible, XBMC/Kodi is easy to setup, and the full-size USB 3.0 port can't be beat with a hub on it. Plus, it's a halfway decent tabbie to boot.
