Bug Kodi git freezing when doing many consecutive seek jumps
#16
Post a Debug Log. I don't have that issue and watched TV for more than 3 hours yesterday evening.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

This time kodi crashed on startup, the debug log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=300996

Then i started it again to get the log when freezing during tv playing:

FernetMenta's version is freezing for me in 6 out of 6 tries after at most 20s of playback.
Kodi froze around 8:40:26,. The following epg update at 8:41:10 came after kodi seemed dead (no reaction on any kind of input, image frozen etc.).

For the first thing: When something crashes, always provide the crashlog from your home directory

For the other bug, you are running in sth. fernet wants to track down: https://github.com/FernetMenta/xbmc/comm...4a5a1450b7

And something else: When filing such bugs with alpha release - please make sure to run Confluence only.

Yes, the last patch does not work because it deadlocks. I will try a different approach tomorrow.

Sorry. I will add the crash log later when I'm back home. And for the future I will provide logs having confluence set.

Shall I open new threads for the two new issues?

here is the crash log:

it was not the first time i had a crash on startup. this happens from time to time since ever, no matter which xbmc version or os version, hardware. most times it seems releated to tv database changes. at least so it seems for me. but this need not to have anythign to do with this crash.

Why do you store epg in database? This is unnecessary overhead and slows down startup when using vnsi.

why not? (except for the slow down Tongue) it was on by default. it is nothing that i ever thought about if to do or not. Wink
i actually never changed ot or bothered about it.

vdr has it's own database for epg, hence it makes no sense storing epg in xbmc pvr db. apart from that it is incredible slow on startup. and probably the most convincing reason: I have never tested this scenario Smile
