I've setup an addon repository and noticed that XBMC doesn't automatically(or at least not immediately) pick up on updates. When I click either "Check for updates" or "Force Refresh", it'll start updating.
Is this normal behaviour? If so, then how often does XBMC check repositories for updates? And, is there any way to make it check for updates more often?
Thanks

Normally supported addons are updated at startup. Once, after a fresh install, it might happen, that you have to force a refresh. But after that, XBMC should always update after boot

depending on what version you use.
<=13.1 every 6 hours
>=13.2 every 24 hours
and then it all depends if the server you are redirected to, has been updated at that moment. so it could be you just checked before the server was updated and then it takes another X hours before it is checked again

Martijn, is there any way to shorten that duration?

recompile or manual.
why would you shorten it? Doing that is pointless. You are needless bothering servers with checking for updates while there may be none in several days/weeks depending on what repo.

Is there a menu item or a simple way in Kodi to check what has been updated and when?
