BEWARE OF THE ARMADA MACH 8 AND THE LITTLE BLACK BOX - THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY RUNNING A NEW SCAM!

I purchased 3 of the The Little Black Box seven months ago and two of them stopped working after one month. They told me to ship it back to them then returned a beat up used device previously owned by some other customer to me after 6 weeks. Now they dont reply to my emails and the device really sucks balls it hardly ever works at all. Their name got ruined by bad reviews, scam reports, and their connection to scammers XUnity and Mikey1234 (company director) so now they are up and scamming again under a new name. I'm sick and tired of all these bullshit brands that promise reliability and one year warranty and then disappear after ripping off hundreds of customers!!! Sad

That's called a "referb", and it's pretty typical for any company when they send a replacement for a broken unit. The question is, does it work? Even if it "sucks balls", as long as it works as advertised then they've held up their end of the deal, even if it's a previously owned unit.

If that's not good enough then ask for a full refund.

As far as I know, TLBB took careful steps to not be associated with "xunity" or Mikey1234. That's one of the reasons they actually stood out from some other sellers of ARM boxes. I don't see anything on any of their sites to suggest a connection to those guys.

Maybe they are the same group, but the domain registration just shows both sites using a privacy service, so you can't see who directly registered the domain. I use privacy services on my personal domain names as well.

TLBB has always been kind of dated hardware, but I never heard anything particularly bad about it. Your rant here just looks like you're some angry customer who didn't understand the situation, rather than an actual warning about anyone scamming anyone else.

Also, bad customer service does not make someone a "scammer". I don't know if there was bad service here or not, but it's a totally different thing than being a scammer.

Hi My name is Julian Allen,

Let's set the record straight.

We manufacture the little black box. We sell to companies who resell our products in the USA, that was a company who now manufactures the Armarda. Our resellers are contracted to offer customer service returns and replacements to there customers. We do not currently have resellers in the USA or Canada.

As a relatively new company we have faced many challenges. We have worked hard to rectify these challenges. We sell our products in the second largest retailer in the world (Media Markt) and our V2 model hits the stores in Europe in a few weeks. To my knowledge the tlbb is the first pure xbmc unit available in 1000's of physical stores. Such a large company would not deal with scammers or a faulty product.

We have failed miserably to find the right partners on the other side of the pond. However where it has come to our attention we will send units from the UK for replacement.

We are still seeking new partners around the world but will only work with companies that are able to support our customers.

So firstly if you are in the USA or Canada with a faulty unit please PM me and we will replace the unit with our new model. We won't send you a refurb we will send you our best kit.

We care about our customers we now have a team of 10 developers and a team of support staff.

Oh and Ned PM me too we are wanting to pay our dues to the creators of the wonderful software we have based our products on.

For most manufacturers 'refurbished' means restored to 'like new' condition. If the outer casing is heavily scratched then they will typically replace it.

That's not always the case and your legal entitlements vary by region but it's the norm with most manufacturer refurbs i've come across. Certainly in Europe it's not legally acceptable for a warranty replacement to be in worse cosmetic condition than the original item.

TLBB has always been kind of dated hardware, but I never heard anything particularly bad about it.

Is v2 powerful enough to not be considered dated hardware or is there something better on the market that you would recommend?
