How to adjust Notebook and TV displays to the video?
#1
How could I adjust the size of the display of the TV and of the Notebook and let the video fit to the display: http://i.imgur.com/meyDZse.jpg This display is framed on TV by black space, repectively the display is surrounded by bars, so how could I make the size bigger to fit the TV screen?

And how can I lead the audio signal of the video to the Hifi amplefier vía HDMI cable and not to the TV?

Make sure the TV is connected before you start XBMC and then try it. It should just fill the whole space automatically, but if the display changes after XBMC has started then XBMC might not understand the new screen size of the TV.

As for your amp, I'm not sure. It depends on how your amp is connected to your TV.

Many thanks, Ned,

Great, the works. Now the display is in the center / the middle of the TV screen and not displaced anymore, but it is still framed by the black bars / space. I can change the size, make the display bigger, so that the black bars become very small when I set a lower resolution: http://i.imgur.com/twzOKAO.png But either the display gets to big, bigger than the TV screen, cropped or a little bit to smal with these black bars. And changing the resolution for the TV also changes (unwanted) the resolution for the Notebook.

I remember, I have on the other Notebook, 1, 2 years before used such a programm to fit the display for the graphic card or so...on the Notebook now, I have Nvidia and Intel show to be the graphic cards? 2 ones? Can the be true?

Or would it be better to use XBMC - if possible at all - to fit the display?

The graphic card (or one of them): http://i.imgur.com/SDPh3Dr.png
There the other graphic is shown, obviously: http://i.imgur.com/QISnGi9.png

Sorry for the lack of information, I use the head phones / line out plug of the Notebook for the sound to that ampflifier. I had copied my portable XBMC to the other Notebook, so I had thought the settings would be overtaken / right. I use the head phones plug there, also.

Does the TV have any calibration options? Often TVs do this by default because they expect overscan issues, but this should be something you can turn off at the TV level.

No, it does not appear there were such settings, not that many settings to find. The TV is made 2010, a cheap one, LED.
