XBMC Media Player Setup with Phillips Hue

Hi,

I have the Hue App installed on XBMC on my laptop that I hook up to my tv to watch movies and it changes my Hue Lights automagically.

What would be the best way to get rid of using my laptop in my living room and setting up a XBMC box with a harddrive attached that can also run the Hue App?

Should I buy the new Slice media player on Kickstarter, $350, but would that run the Hue App?

Should I get a FireTV out (currently at $85). Root it, install XMBC, use an external USB drive and would that run the Hue App?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot for your help!

The xbmc hue addon is written in python, and should work on any platform.
