Linux 1080p stutter
#1
I present to you with looks to be another 1080p studder issue and am seeking resolution (720p works just fine).

I have searched extensively through previous posts for resolution with no fix, and figure its time for individual case specific.

Troubleshooting:
I have tried the files both from the network and local to the machine to determine not a network issue.
I have upgraded xbmc from 12.3 to 13.2 in attempts to resolve.

System:
Matricom G-BOX SIGMA
Ubuntu14.04 x64
Dual Core E350 1.6GHz
Radeon HD 6310
2GB RAM

Connection:
G-Box > HDMI Cable > TV

xbmc.log:
http://pastebin.com/veJQRCXY

Screenshots:

I feel that I have messed around with most the options (including sync playback to display) on the above settings screens with no fix but maybe I haven't found the correct combo yet.
Video drivers also look to be up to date (under 'additional drivers' tab) unless there's a better way to update them?

Any assistance, ideas, etc are appreciated.

Thanks!

Install:
sudo apt-get install mesa-vdpau-drivers vdpauinfo

Provide:
dpkg -l |grep mesa | pastebinit
vdpauinfo | pastebinit

Make sure to enable VDPAU acceleration in order to use the radeon / vdpau acceleration that is supported since mesa 10.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Hey!! This looks to have fixed my issue. Need to test a few more files.

As requested:

dpkg -l |grep mesa | pastebinit
http://paste.ubuntu.com/8391012/

vdpauinfo | pastebinit
http://paste.ubuntu.com/8391016/

What is vdpau? should I enable the other hardware feature too? Are there any other settings that need to be tweaked for optimal performance?

Thanks!

vdpau is an api to do hw acceleration.

It is currently support by Nvidia and AMD radeon (the oss driver _not_ fglrx, which does support nothing).

All fine that way. Some further tweaks:
Make always sure that Deinterlacing (it's a per video setting) is never set to On, always use Auto
You can compare with the settings named here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=174854
