I go mad (one day) with this.
Im utilising a NUC i5 here and have managed to get XBMC on 14.04 Distro running perfectly (now even with EFI)
It was my 5/6th attempt - always due to this or that.
Most recently I reinstalled, because I was not able to get UPNP up and running.
And it still does not work.
The LOG file says ist starting all the services - it seems to advertise (tcpdump on the router)
But VLC on my MacBook (WLAN) as well as my Popcorn Hour (LAN) cannot find the service.
The upnpserver.xml is changing ports if I delete it ... but that might not be the issue.
And I swear there is no firewall blocking anything.
BTW. it actually worked at the very beginning on my first XBMCbuntu install ... but never since.
I totally lack knowledge on how to track the issue down.
Even my Samsung TV can be found as upnp device.
Any suggestions on where to start hunting ?
