Android How to configure PVR for wireless link to TV
#1
Sad
Excuse me, if this has been posted anywhere, but i couldn't find it.

So , what i want to do ?
I have a wireless network between smartphone & (smart)TV.
XBMC acts as media server, 1 or 2 PVR add-ons are activated.
How should be configured the settings in PVR-menu ?
I mean, Hostname or IP address...port ...etc...
I tried to insert these for TV, but PVR client don't want to start...?
Probably i have mistaken something.. Sad

Any tips or suggestions are welcome Smile

I hope somebody can explain me if that, what i want to do, is possibly Smile
I want to capture video stream (and eventually to record it) from TV via wireless connection using PVR add-on in XBMC. For the purpose iam using only smartphone.
From menu System choose File Manager ->UpnP devices->my TV, There are 3 options - Current Channel/Watch Satellite/Watch TV...
I selected current Channel , but without success ;(
On PVR add-ons menu chose TV Headend, but dont know what address to write in PVR Hostname or IP and Port....Huh
Tried to enter the IP address of TV, but PVR don't start, when i hit Live TV....

This is not possible.

Your TV would have to have Tvheadend running on it. That is not possible on a normal TV.

Normally Tvheadend runs on a PC under Linux with a TV tuner card in it.

Once you have that Tvheadend PC in your network you can use PVR functions in XBMC, possibly also wirelessly on your smart phone.

Have a look at the PVR Wiki

@ulibuck is right, there's no way to use your existing TV to watch TV in XBMC. You'll need a computer with a tuner and a backend software such as tvheadend, after that it is trivial to configure the corresponding addon in XBMC and enable its live TV features.
